Barb surprises the Stranger Things cast with a cake on Chelsea

Barb (Shannon Purser) has returned from The Upside Down.

In a clip from Thursday’s Chelsea, Shannon Purser drops by Chelsea Handler’s Netflix show and surprises the Stranger Things kids with a birthday cake to celebrate Gaten Matarazzo’s birthday. While there, Purser speaks about her time on the show and the internet’s obsession with her character, who was killed by the monster who inhabits the Upside Down.

“It was absolutely amazing. It was totally unexpected,” says Purser.

Although Barb is definitely dead, her death will factor largely into season 2, said Stranger Things EPs Matt and Ross Duffer in the current issue of EW, on newsstands now.
