Oasis documentary 'Supersonic': First trailer follows band's rise and fall
- Music
Fresh off an Academy Award-winning run with Amy, the documentary’s director Asif Kapadia looks at another recent legend in British music canon: Oasis.
The first trailer for Supersonic, on which Kapadia serves as executive producer, examines the ’90s band’s meteoric rise and fall and offers a look into the “funny farm” world of Manchester, England natives, brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, from their singing with Creation Records to their subsequent rise to the tops of the charts. “Trouble seemed to find us,” one says.
“What happened to you in those three years?” a voice asks when discussing their breakup. “That is a big question and it deserves a big answer,” replies one of the Gallagher brothers.
“Oasis’ greatest strength was me and Liam. It’s also what drove the band into the ground in the end,” explains Noel.
Watch the documentary trailer below. Supersonic will be released on Oct. 14 in the U.K. with no word yet on a U.S. release date.
