Miles Teller apologizes for dyeing hair blond: I never meant to hurt you
Earlier this summer, Miles Teller turned heads when he showed up to the ESPY Awards with a brand-new blond ‘do (with matching bleached eyebrows). It was, um, a bit of a new look for the natural brunette, and the internet had a minor meltdown, spawning headlines like, “Miles Teller Debuted His New Blonde Hair and Twitter Went Insane,” “Miles Teller Botched His Attempt at Blond Hair,” and “What Has Miles Teller Gone and Done Now?”
Teller later revealed that his blond locks were for a role, and not the result of a freakish attack by a bottle of Sun-In. In reality, he spent much of the summer filming Joseph Kosinski’s movie about the Granite Mountain Hotshots, a group of Arizona firefighters who took on the deadly Yarnell Hill Fire in 2013. Nineteen of the 20 firefighters died in the blaze, and Teller stars as the sole survivor (who has blond hair).
However, Teller has since wrapped filming, and to celebrate, he posted a selfie on Tuesday from the hair salon, where he dyed his hair back to its natural color.
“Dear Internet, I’m sorry I dyed my hair blonde,” he wrote on Twitter. “I never meant to hurt you. Please accept this apology.”
Awww. Thanks, Miles. Apology accepted.
