Sia's Cheap Thrills cover uses a bicycle as musical instrument
Sia may not “need dollar bills to have fun tonight,” according to her hit song “Cheap Thrills,” but what she does need is this unexpected new cover of that track.
YouTube musician Kurt Hugo Schneider partnered with singer Kina Grannis to give an inventive take on the This Is Acting single, all played using a bicycle as a musical intrument. In the music video, above, Grannis sits atop the single standard bike, belting out the catchy lyrics, while Schneider and his musical partner use drum sticks and the bike’s parts to create the supporting score.
Sia’s track, featuring Sean Paul, took the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 — her first ever — for the period ending Aug. 6, sitting atop the chart for 4 weeks. It has since dropped to No. 3, but still remains the No. 1 track on the radio play charts.
