Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby

  • Movie

Ricky Bobby’s life and career crashed and burned after he literally crashed and burned (in his imagination) on the racetrack. He had to take a break from the his sport to recover, and his wife, Carley, left him for his best friend Cal Naughton Jr. But could he have claimed some of it back?

Ahead of Talladega Nights getting the 10th anniversary Blu-ray treatment, EW can exclusively share one of the never-before-seen deleted scenes that will be featured in the collection, above. Cal (John C. Reilly) calls up a distressed Ricky (Will Ferrell) from the latter’s home, playing with the sweet model speedboat Ricky had purchased. The offer to hang out doesn’t sit well.

“Do I have to repeat this again?” Ricky asks. “You basically took my life and you crumbled it under your foot.”

Cal pesters Ricky for an RSVP for his nuptials to Carley. Ricky resists, but Cal has a final offer to try to lure Ricky back. “Why can’t we be three?” Cal poses to Ricky, who doesn’t want to hear it. “Why, they do it in Europe. New York City, they do it all the time.” Click.

The Talladega Nights 10th anniversary Blu-ray will feature the theatrical version of the film remastered in 4K, the unrated version, 90-plus minutes of new special features, interviews with Ricky and Jean (Sacha Baron Cohen), and more. This 2-disc set pulls up on Oct. 25.
