Kerry Washington is going from the corridors of power in Washington, D.C., to the mean streets of Los Angeles.

EW has confirmed the Scandal star is on board to executive produce Patrol, a drama about four female LAPD officers that’s in the works at ABC.

Chitra Sampath (Secrets and Lies, Southland) wrote the script, which centers on a quartet of cops who attended the police academy together several years before and are forced to reconnect to confront a secret that won’t stay buried.

Michael London, Janice Williams, and Sharla Sumpter Bridgett will executive produce alongside Washington, and Sampath will serve as co-executive producer.

Known for playing the expert fixer Olivia Pope on Scandal, Washington recently launched her own production company, Simpson Street. Its first project was the HBO movie Confirmation, in which Washington starred as Anita Hill.

Variety first reported the news.
