Natalie Portman has found a reason to not show her son the Star Wars prequel films she appears in — and it has nothing to do with Jar Jar Binks.

During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Portman was asked if her 5-year-old son had yet seen her in the Star Wars prequels, in which she stars as Padmé Amidala.

“He has not, but he knows about it, of course,” she says. “It’s kind of a shame because you know when I made it, I was like, ‘This is going to be the coolest thing, one day when I have kids, I can show them.’ And boys of course are obsessed with it and know all about it before they’ve seen it. Then I realized: I die in the movies. I feel like it’s kind of a scary thing to show your kid.”

Portman first appeared in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace and played a major part in the next two films. Her role was central to the entire franchise as she was not only Anakin Skywalker’s wife, but also mother to Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa — which also makes Kylo Ren her grandson.
