Can’t eat a ghost pepper without watering an eye? Then you’re not getting into The Scratching Post, the new, zombie-only watering hole for Liv and co. on iZombie this season.

“The number of zombies in Seattle is going up at an alarming rate, and it’s high time someone capitalized on the undead’s desire to socialize with their own kind,” showrunner Rob Thomas explained to EW. “We originally named the establishment Coldcock’s, but apparently that’s the name of a brand of booze, so we settled on our second choice, The Scratching Post. It’s a speakeasy where one needs to be able to eat a ghost pepper without flinching to be allowed in, but once inside, brains and hot sauces from around the world are available for the discriminating zombie.”

If you’ll recall, Liv (Rose McIver), Major (Robert Buckley), and her crew met Vivian Stoll (Andrea Savage) in the season 2 finale, and she promised a “new world order” was coming, one which included making Seattle “the capital of the zombie homeland.” So, yeah, all those undead are going to need a place to congregate, whether it’s just to get an order of brains or to plot world domination.

In addition to its strict door policy, such a place would need to be underground and fairly large. And it is. Check out our exclusive concept art of The Scratching Post below.
