Stranger Things: Funko mocked up figure based on Eleven
Funko’s repertoire of Pop Vinyl figurines could soon grow by at least one notable Stranger Things character — if the toy brand gets their wish, that is.
The toy maker recently posted a digital mock-up of a doll based on the likeness of Millie Bobby Brown’s character, Eleven, from the popular Netflix sci-fi thriller, which premiered on the network’s streaming service in July.
“Funko is completely strung out on @strangerthingstv so we sculpted Eleven,” the brand wrote in an Instagram post. “It’s our number one wish for Pop! LIKE & COMMENT BELOW IF YOU WANT THIS TO BE REAL!!!” The photo has more than 27,000 likes and 4,000 comments as of publication of this article.
The design shows off Eleven’s signature haircut, food of choice (we see you, Eggos!), and, remaining faithful to the character it’s based on, even features a little dirt on her face and a tiny drop of blood trickling down the nose.
On Tuesday, Funko launched a Twitter poll asking fans, nearly 9,000 of whom responded, which character they’d like to see made into a Pop Vinyl doll next, hinting at the potential for more Stranger Things figures in the future (if the Duffers approve). The winner? Dustin (40 percent), with the Demogorgon (29 percent) and Barb (26 percent) trailing close behind. Dr. Brenner rounds out the list of choices with 5 percent of the vote.
While their Stranger Things line might be a ways off, Funko has made tiny figures based on characters from popular movies and shows in the past, including Mean Girls, The Walking Dead, The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Bob’s Burgers.
The first season of Stranger Things is now streaming in full on Netflix.
