Reese Witherspoon considering Legally Blonde, Sweet Home Alabama sequels
Could Elle Woods find herself back in a courtroom? Reese Witherspoon is toying with the idea.
The Oscar-winning actress admitted during a Facebook Live session from the social media company’s L.A. office on Thursday that reopening the pink wardrobe is something that has been on her mind.
“[Legally Blonde] was really fun,” she said Thursday. “A lot of people have asked me if we’re going to make another Legally Blonde, and we’re thinking about it.”
Following Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde in 2003, there had been little talk of another sequel until last year when Witherspoon said writers had come up with some ideas. The original film was adapted into a Broadway musical in 2007.
Witherspoon expressed a less certain but more eager outlook on a potential follow-up to another rom-com: Sweet Home Alabama. “We are not making a [Sweet Home Alabama] sequel that I know of,” she said. “But if Disney wants to make a sequel, they can just call me: I would happily make Sweet Home Alabama 2.”
