My Blind Brother

  • Movie

Nick Kroll, Jenny Slate, and Adam Scott are giving a whole new meaning to the phrase “love is blind” in their new movie. The first trailer for My Blind Brother shows the trio of comedians navigating an awkward love triangle, which is complicated by the fact that Scott’s character is blind (and incredibly arrogant).

Scott plays Robbie, the titular blind brother, who uses athletics to overcome the social stigma of his inability to see. However, his impressive achievements have fostered more of narcissism in him than a humility, as he neglects to thank his brother Bill (Kroll) for running marathons alongside him.

Enter Rose (Slate), who has a one-night stand with Bill before unwittingly agreeing to train Robbie for an upcoming swimming event. Now, Bill and Rose will have to try to navigate their feelings for one another even though Rose has been guilted into a relationship with Robbie that she is uninterested in.

Kroll, Slate, and Scott have all worked together before on Parks & Recreation, and Kroll and Slate in particular have collaborated extensively on his series The Kroll Show. But don’t expect the zany antics of Liz and Liz to appear in My Blind Brother, which is a darker and more grounded film from the comedians.

My Blind Brother will have a limited release on Sept. 23 before being available through video on demand. Watch the trailer above.
