If there’s one thing we’ve learned from science-fiction movies and Stranger Things, it’s that scientists experimenting with kids never ends well. That is doubly true in Morgan, the upcoming debut feature from director Luke Scott (son of Ridley). The film centers around a young girl named Morgan (Anya Taylor-Joy) who has been genetically engineered to embody the best of humanity’s potential. As a new teaser video from the movie demonstrates, Morgan grows a little too fast, and starts to move beyond the capabilities of her human caretakers.
“I am something new,” Morgan tells Paul Giamatti’s character Dr. Shapiro, before violently turning on the scientists.
“She’s sort of incredibly advanced and incredibly immature at the same time,” Giamatti recently told EW of the film’s titular character.
