Billie Joe Armstrong joins the list of folks who have compared Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump to Hitler.

In an interview with Kerrang, the Green Day frontman slammed Trump and his supporters. “The worst problem I see about Trump is who his followers are,” he told the magazine. “I actually feel bad for them, because they’re poor, working-class people who can’t get a leg up. They’re pissed off and he’s preyed on their anger.”

Armstrong then made the dark comparison: “He just said, ‘You have no options and I’m the only one, and I’m going to take care of it myself.’ I mean, that’s f—ing Hitler, man!”

He continued: “I don’t even know how else to explain it. wish I were over-exaggerating. And sometimes maybe I do over-exaggerate with Bush. But with Trump, I just can’t wait ’til he’s gone.”

Armstrong has been outspoken about his politics before, speaking out against Bush, like he mentioned. Green Day released their rock opera collection American Idiot during his presidency, and some of the songs (“American Idiot,” “Holiday”) directly address the Republican and his administration.

Green Day recently announced a new album, Revolution Radio, due out Oct. 7 and released the collection’s first single “Bang Bang.”
