If you like the idea that all six seasons of American Horror Story are connected — and you should, because creator Ryan Murphy has said so — you might be intrigued by a new trailer for FX’s chilling drama anthology. The 30-second spot whisks you through the previous five seasons of macabre memories involving a rubber man, a bleeding white nun, a snaky threesome, some circus freakery, and a Cortez key before giving you a whole new scarescape of images: a demonic insect-man ambulating too fast on train tracks, some nasty scalp suturing, a woman screaming as a green creature grabs her in a lake in what appears to be a retro-B-horror film, bodies contorting in ways they definitely should not, and much more.

Click on the video above and check out today’s other trailer (which will have you never trusting a scarecrow or attending Burning Man again) before speculating some more on the season 6’s unsettling setting.

American Horror Story and your nightmares return Sept. 14.
