Spears is returning to the awards show where she once kissed Madonna and danced with a live boa constrictor

After nearly a decade away from MTV’s VMAs, Britney Spears is returning to the stage that has spawned some of the most memorable moments in her career. MTV confirmed on Tuesday that Spears will be performing at the 2016 Video Music Awards.

Spears will be joined on stage by rapper G-Eazy, and the pair will perform the lead single off her forthcoming album Glory, “Make Me…” The album is drops Aug. 26, two days ahead of the VMAs.

This will be Spears’ first performance at the VMAs since 2007, when she opened the show with by singing her single “Gimme More.” Spears also famously shared a kiss with Madonna and performed “I’m a Slave 4 U” with a live boa constrictor in years prior.

In addition to Spears and G-Eazy, the show will feature a performance from Rihanna, who is also receiving the illustrious Video Vanguard Award. Additional performances have not yet been announced.

The 2016 VMAs will air on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 9:00 p.m. ET on MTV. You can view Spears’ announcement of the upcoming performance below.
