Following a stint in short-lived NBC thriller State of Affairs, Katherine Heigl will return to the small screen for CBS drama Doubt. The series trailer, released Tuesday, finds the actress trading in her CIA chops for courtroom prowess as she navigates a tangled case and a soft spot for her client.

She stars as Sadie Ellis, a tenacious defense lawyer who falls for a man on trial for murder (Steven Pasquale). In addition to Heigl and Pasquale, the ensemble cast includes Laverne Cox, Dulé Hill, Dreama Walker, Elliott Gould, and Kobi Libii.

The show reunites the Grey’s Anatomy vet with former Grey’s producers Tony Phelan and Joan Rater, as well as Elementary alums Carl Beverly and Sarah Timberman.

Doubt, which was redeveloped after failing to garner a pickup at the network last pilot season, is slated to debut midseason. A specific premiere date has not yet been announced.
