John Turturro, Tony Shalhoub, Jessica Hecht tapped for The Price Broadway revival
The Price
- Stage
John Turturro, Tony Shalhoub, and Jessica Hecht will star in a new production of Arthur Miller’s The Price headed to Broadway next spring.
The revival, directed by Terry Kinney (who co-founded Chicago’s renowned Steppenwolf Theatre Company), will play a limited engagement from Feb. 16 through May 7 at Roundabout Theatre Company’s American Airlines Theatre. Opening night is set for March 16.
The play (which originally opened on Broadway in 1968) is set three decades after the Great Depression, which wiped out the fortune of the Franz family, and follows Victor Franz (Turturro, currently seen in HBO’s The Night Of), who returns to his childhood home to reconcile his parents’ estate alongside his wife, his estranged brother, and a furniture dealer.
Additional casting will be announced soon.
Miller was represented on Broadway just last season with two revivals: The Crucible, starring Ben Whishaw, and A View From the Bridge, which earned this year’s Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play.
