The Star Wars family lost a member this weekend: Kenny Baker, the actor who brought to life the lovable droid R2-D2, died at the age of 81. As the world morns this loss, celebrities within the Hollywood community and beyond continue to express their love for Baker and his work.

Simon Pegg, a longtime Star Wars fan who had a small role in The Force Awakens, posted a thoughtful image on social media of R2 from the original films, while others including Edgar Wright, Kevin Smith, and Josh Gad reflected on Baker’s legacy.

Gary Whitta, screenwriter behind Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, recalled, “When I was a kid nothing inspired me more than Star Wars and Time Bandits. Kenny Baker was a big part of both. Alas.”
