Aly Raisman is competing at her second Olympic Games – several years ahead of schedule.
A former bunkmate of the gymnast and four-time Olympic medalist revealed that in their 2003 Camp Wicosuta summer yearbook, Raisman correctly surmised that she’d one day be an Olympian.
“I went to camp with @Aly_Raisman – she was pretty on point with her prediction about the future,” wrote Tech Insider managing editor Emily Cohn in a tweet that was re-shared by Raisman herself.
Under the section titled, “In 20 years I will be…,” Raisman, then 9, responded, “an Olympic gymnast.”
Raisman first medaled in the Games at age 18. Now 22, she just achieved gold for the all-around team finals.
Other revelations from Raisman’s summer in West Harrison, New York? She and the other Bunk 5L girls enjoyed “toilet time,” Hot Pockets and chicken nuggets.
Raisman and “Final Five” teammate Simone Biles will go for individual gold in the all-arounds on Thursday.
