Up-and-coming filmmaker Emily Carmichael is set to direct Lumberjanes, a big-screen adaption of the popular comic book series.

Carmichael, known for her award-winning short film work, will helm the Fox project, which follows five teenage girls at a summer camp, where they encounter strange creatures and supernatural threats.

This is just the latest high-profile project for Carmichael, who will write and direct Powerhouse, which is being produced by Steven Spielberg, Colin Trevorrow, and Simon Kinberg.

The Lumberjanes comic, which debuted two years ago, was created by Shannon Walters, Grace Ellis, and Noelle Stevenson.
