NSYNC reunion: Band reunites at JC Chasez's 40th birthday party
*NSYNC is back together, if only for a moment.
The superstar group’s members, who disbanded following the release of their third studio album, Celebrity, in 2002, posed for a photo at JC Chasez’s 40th birthday party at The Nice Guy in West Hollywood on Monday night.
“JC’s 40th… And, if you don’t know now you know…” Timberlake wrote in the photo’s caption as he posed alongside Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, Lance Bass, and Joey Fatone.
Chasez also took to Instagram with his thoughts on the mini-reunion, writing “So many feels” as he posted the same photo. Bass similarly shared a photo of himself posing with Chasez at the event, asking fans to comment with birthday wishes for his former bandmate.
Celebrity, which has sold over 5 million units in the 14 years since its release, marks *NSYNC’s final album of original material to date. The group reunited for a special performance at the 2013 MTV VMAs.
Timberlake has found immense success as a solo artist (his latest single, “Can’t Stop the Feeling,” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in May), while Chasez’s most successful solo single, 2002’s “Blowin’ Me Up (With Her Love)” reached the Top 40 in the U.S. Fatone has worked steadily as an actor since 2002 (he appeared in My Big Fat Greek Wedding and its 2016 sequel), Bass competed on the seventh season of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, and Kirkpatrick appeared as a contestant on the second season of CMT’s celebrity reality show Gone Country.
