Just like Obama's

Olympic legend Michael Phelps became a meme Monday night when he mean mugged hard before the men’s 200 meter butterfly semifinals event at the Rio Olympics. Hood up, headphones on, Phelps stared daggers at his South African competitor Chad Le Clos, who danced in front of him during the broadcast.

But as the jokes poured in, folks wondered, “What does Michael Phelps listen to while warming up?”

The answer came when the New York Times published a profile on the 19-time Olympic Gold winner and his family, citing that his “prerace playlist” includes “a mix of songs from Eminem, Young Jeezy and a more recent addition, Eric Church.”

Sounds familiar, right? This week, President Barack Obama also revealed that he pumped himself up with Eminem’s 2002 hit, “Lose Yourself,” during the Democratic National Convention. (Eminem’s “Without Me” also features prominently in Suicide Squad, meaning the Detroit rapper is having a bit of a moment.)

Though Phelps’ exact playlist is still unknown, the Times notes that it does not include Church’s “Michael,” a devastating song about a 34-year-old alcoholic named Michael who loses touch with his son.
