Drew Barrymore shares adorable E.T., Firestarter throwback photos
Drew Barrymore is revisiting her child star roots, sharing several nostalgic photos that honor some of her iconic roles.
The actress, producer, and director has been cleaning out her “old storage unit,” she wrote Tuesday on Instagram, where she posted several behind-the-scenes snapshots from early in her career. The world first met Barrymore as a fresh-faced star in films like E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and Firestarter. Stepping out of her acting roles, the Miss You Already actress took to Instagram Tuesday to share some behind-the-scenes and throwback shots.
One photo shows a pig-tail wearing Barrymore posing with the E.T. puppet and Quincy Jones, the film’s soundtrack producer, as well as his daughters Kadida Jones and Parks and Recreation actress Rashida Jones. “No way! Look what I just found!” Barrymore wrote in the caption. “I am finding all sorts of treasures today!”
Barrymore also shared a set photo from the adaptation of Stephen King’s novel Firestarter, in which she played Charlie McGee. “At work on Firestarter 1982, North Carolina,” she wrote.
The Miss You Already actress comes from a long line of entertainment icons, including her grand-aunt Ethel Barrymore, an accomplished stage actress who had a Broadway theater named after her. Barrymore shared a photo of her posing beneath its sign. “The Barrymore theater 1982 and me!” she wrote.
Barrymore also shared an on-set picture of her late father, actor John Barrymore. “A picture of my dad,” the Whip It director wrote. “What a beautiful moment.”
Barrymore recently guest-starred on Bravo’s Odd Mom Out and is in pre-production for Santa Clarita Diet, which she will produce and star in.
