Pearl Jam invited Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton onstage to cover Aerosmith’s “Draw the Line” on Sunday.

The cover was especially meaningful since Pearl Jam was playing the second of two shows at Fenway Park in Boston, Aerosmith’s hometown. An emotional Eddie Vedder met Hamilton for the first time when he invited him up, and Vedder was clearly honored. Hamilton was also excited to meet Pearl Jam and said, “I’m so proud to see how my hometown is welcoming these guys. You guys so freaking good.”

Pearl Jam also played at Fenway Park on Friday night, when they debuted the “Draw the Line” cover. During that show, they dedicated the performance to Aerosmith guitar player, Joe Perry, who collapsed backstage during a July show with Hollywood Vampires. “That was for Joe Perry. We’re thinking about you,” Vedder told the crowd.
