The world may have lost Maya Angelou, but her words live on as shown through an emotive Apple ad that aired during the Rio 2016 Olympic opening ceremony.

Expanding upon the technology brand’s “Shot on iPhone” marketing campaign, the new commercial cuts together a diverse photo montage to the voice of Angelou reciting her poem “The Human Family.” (A recording sans commercial is available online from Scientific American.)

The poem reads in part, “I note the obvious differences between each sort and type, but we are more alike, my friends, than we are unalike.”
