Since Resident Evil made the leap from console to big screen 14 years ago, the action franchise has proved harder to keep down than a T-virus-infected zombie.

With the sixth film, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, writer-director Paul W.S. Anderson is finally providing answers about Milla Jovovich’s amnesiac heroine, Alice.

“[It’s] almost like an origin story because we’re revealing the truth as to who Alice is,” he says, adding that fans can expect a full-circle return to Raccoon City and the Hive, where it all began. Once that circle is complete? Then it truly is game over.
