Well, technically, hunky is a matter of our opinion here, but you can’t debate the validity of a nursing degree.

EW has learned one of the first major new bits of casting for the upcoming fifth (!) season of Hulu’s The Mindy Project: Bryan Greenberg will join the cast in a recurring role, introduced early in season 5.

The rom-com staple and erstwhile How to Make It in America star will play Ben, a new pediatric nurse forced to deal with Mindy as she, like plenty of first-time mothers, confronts him with her child’s ever-changing illnesses.

As with any new arrival of an attractive male character on The Mindy Project, Greenberg’s casting poses a big question for fans following last season’s bonkers finale: Does Mindy Lahiri already have enough on her plate juggling her relationship entanglement with Danny and Jody, or could Ben, who shares the chiseled aesthetic of many of Dr. Lahiri’s earliest beaus, factor in romantically here? (Or, perhaps we’re just being reductive and subscribing to the patriarchy and Ben will join the cast and keep things strictly, pediatrically professional.)

Greenberg Instagrammed his first day on set on Friday:

The Mindy Project premieres its fifth season on Oct. 4 on Hulu.
