Seinfeld epitomizes life in New York City, but its 9-season run came to an end before the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks shook the Big Apple. Now, comedian Billy Domineau is imagining how Jerry, George, Elaine, and Kramer would have reacted to the tragedy (very, very selfishly).

Domineau’s script, titled “The Twin Towers,” has gone viral online, and drawn praise from the comedy community. The story follows the foursome as they characteristically make the national tragedy all about themselves. George bumblingly attempts to congratulate a fireman, only to offend him; Elaine is actually relieved to find out a date she was planning to break up with was in the Twin Towers during the attack; and Kramer speculates about whether one of his neighbors was the terrorist leader. It’s a particularly dark subject, but the script is compelling nonetheless.
