It was announced Thursday that Felicia Day and Avatar star Joel David Moore will participate in a reading of an early draft of the beloved, Christopher Columbus-penned adventure film. The reading will start at Aug. 6 at 8 p.m. PT, and is part of this weekend’s 48-hour-long live edition of The Movie Crypt podcast, which is hosted by filmmakers Adam Green (Hatchet) and Joe Lynch (Everly).

“If you’re a Goonies fan you need to hear this!” Green said in a statement. “It’s very different from the final shooting script but every bit as awesome!”

The podcast begins at Aug. 5 at 7 p.m. PT and can be heard via the GeekNation website. The marathon benefits Save a Yorkie Rescue, an organization that helps find homes for abandoned Yorkshire Terriers. The reading of The Goonies will also feature Michael Gladis (Mad Men), Deon Richmond (Hatchet), Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp), and Parry Shen (Snowpiercer).

Other confirmed guests for the marathon include actor Seth Green, comedian Jonah Ray, and director Tom Holland, who will be contributing to a commentary of his 1985 vampire film, Fright Night. You can learn more about the Movie Crypt marathon at the official website of Green’s company, Ariescope, and you can make a donation to Save a Yorkie Rescue here.
