Jonah Hill might have a knack for shrill, on-screen screams, but that’s where his vocal talent ends: The actor revealed he’d rather leak a sex tape than a singing audition.

During an interview with the New York Times, Hill recounted a time in which he was asked to audition for a part in a filmed musical adaption, but declined due to the fear of the audition video making its way to the web. “Most human beings have had more practice at having sex than they have at singing,” he explained when asked if he’d prefer a sex tape leak.

And based on the interview, his hesitation is probably for the best; he can’t even get through someone else‘s performance without a mishap. While walking along New York’s High Line with interviewer Molly Young, Hill tried to tip a dollar to a man singing Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up.” Not seeing a donation receptacle, he attempted to slip the bill under the man’s iPhone like a paperweight, but ended up pausing the instrumental accompanying his rendition.

“I’m sorry!” Hill said. “I completely [expletive] that up.”
