Blinky Bill, one of Australia’s most beloved characters, is jumping from the page and back onto the big screen in new trailer for Blinky Bill: The Movie, which EW can show you exclusively.

In select theaters this fall, the children’s film from Shout! Factory will throw the world-famous Australian koala into an adventure across the exotic outback, with a cast of colorful and equally beloved characters. The trailer, above, provides a taste of the impressive voice cast, including Ryan Kwanten (True Blood) as the titular hero, Toni Collette (Little Miss Sunshine), Rufus Sewell (The Man in High Castle), David Wenham (The Lord of the Rings), Richard Roxburgh (Moulin Rouge!), Robin McLeavy (Hell on Wheels), Barry Otto (The Great Gatsby), and Barry Humphries (Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie).

The story will follow Bill as he leaves his little town of Green Patch to follow in his missing father’s footsteps. When he discovers a mysterious marker that hints at his dad’s whereabouts, the young koala embarks on a journey that takes him beyond the boundary of his home and into the wild and dangerous outback.

The mischievous koala made his debut in The Adventures of Blinky Bill book series in 1933. In 1992, the first feature film Blinky Bill: The Mischievous Koala was released in major territories. This was followed by several successful TV series and movies, which continue to air around the world today.

Blinky Bill: The Movie opens in select U.S. theaters on October 7.
