The warden is in.

Don Johnson is in talks to join Brawl in Cell Block 99, producer Dallas Sonnier confirmed to EW. The former Miami Vice star would join Vince Vaughn in S. Craig Zahler’s follow-up to Bone Tomahawk, the 2015 sleeper western horror.

Vaughn plays Bradley, a former boxer who loses his job as an auto mechanic. After resorting to being a drug runner for an old friend, Bradley becomes caught in a gunfight between the police and his own ruthless allies. Bradley is wounded and thrown in prison, where enemies force him to act violently. Johnson would play the warden in this hellish institution.

Recently, Johnson recurred on season 2 of From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series after one year of being a regular. He led up ABC’s 2015 melodrama Blood & Oil; it was not picked up for season 2.

Sonnier and Jack Heller of Caliber Media will produce the action-thriller. Filming for Brawl in Cell Block 99 is scheduled to begin September in New York City.
