Shelley Long is taking a road trip to Kansas City to join the upcoming dramedy Different Flowers.

The debut feature film of writer and director Morgan Dameron will follow two sisters mending their rocky relationship while on a road trip of their own. The Emmy-winning actress will produce the film and play the feuding sisters’ Grandma Mildred. She joins a cast that includes Emma Bell (The Walking Dead) and Hope Lauren (Supergirl) as sisters Millie and Emma.

The entire production will be filmed in and around the Kansas City metropolitan area as part of the Kansas City, Missouri Development program. Implemented in May, the program encourages productions to film in the Kansas City area, and use local talent, businesses and artists.

“On behalf of all of the KC natives, transplants and enthusiasts in the Different Flowers family, we are so proud to be filming here. We feel very welcomed by the community and can’t wait to introduce our amazing team to the warmth that Kansas City has to offer. Seriously, it’s gonna be a warm August,” Dameron said in a statement.

Different Flowers will begin production this August.
