Your daily guide to the most interesting stuff happening on TV and streaming. All times Eastern.

Real Time With Bill Maher

HBO, 11 p.m.*

After two long, zany, intrigue-filled weeks, the political conventions come to an end tonight with Hillary Clinton giving her big acceptance speech. And right after her comes Bill Maher, who’ll host a special live Real Time that starts whenever Clinton’s finished. His live shows throughout the RNC and DNC have been great so far, and tonight looks no different — his roundtable will include literary celeb Salman Rushdie, conservative anchor Amy Holmes, and journalist Michael Moynihan. *The show begins immediately following Hillary Clinton’s speech.

Hollywood Game Night

NBC, 9 p.m.

Jane Lynch hosts a “ladies night” with Julia Stiles, Raven-Symoné, Bellamy Young, and other famous women. Internet trolls are already saying it’s the worst attack on men’s rights since the new Ghostbusters.

Jeff Ross Presents: Roast Battle

Comedy Central, 10 p.m.

The Roastmaster General presides over a four-night insult-comedy contest that he calls “Fight Club for comedians.” Does this mean Jeff Ross has actually been Brad Pitt all along? Maybe! His panel of judges will include the likes of Judd Apatow, Whoopi Goldberg, Sarah Silverman, Kevin Hart, and more — check out the full list here.

Ripper Street

BBC America, 10 p.m.

The Victorian crime series set in the time of Jack the Ripper returns for its fourth season, and a lot is happening: The premiere picks up in the summer of 1897 as the Queen is celebrating her diamond jubilee. But, of course, the festivities are marred for our heroes thanks to some high-profile murder cases.
