Among the original stars set to return alongside Lauren Graham (Lorelai) and Alexis Bledel (Rory) include Scott Patterson (Luke), Kelly Bishop (Emily), Melissa McCarthy (Sookie), Sean Gunn (Kirk), Liza Weil (Paris), Yanic Truesdale (Michel), and more. (Details here.) A Year in the Life was created by Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino.

In addition to the announcement, Netflix also released a first teaser trailer for the return.

“We’ve been talking about it since the day the old show ended,” Graham said about the revival at the Television Critics Association summer press tour. “The first step was: Is there willingness? If we could make it happen, would we?”
