DC fans have been dissecting and obsessing over every single member of the Suicide Squad for months, and the movie doesn’t even come out until Aug. 5. But while Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn and Will Smith’s Deadshot have faced their fair share of scrutiny, no character has received quite as much attention as Jared Leto’s Joker, from his lime green hair down to his elaborate tattoos.

The Joker, of course, has been portrayed by everyone from Mark Hamill and Jack Nicholson to Heath Ledger and Cesar Romero. We’ve gotten a glimpse at what Leto is bringing to the role from Suicide Squad’s trailers (as well as the notorious tales of his on-set antics), but now, Leto has shared a new look at his take on the Clown Prince of Crime. In a dapper new selfie posted to Instagram, Leto’s Joker is all dolled up in a crisp tuxedo, bright red lipstick and all.

“As an actor, he’s flinging himself into the abyss on that one,” director David Ayer told EW a few weeks ago. “And he was scary on set. He was intimidating. He’d show up and it was like, ‘Dude, you are f—ing creepy.’”

In addition to Leto, Robbie, and Smith, Suicide Squad also stars Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman, Karen Fukuhara, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jay Hernandez, Adam Beach, and Cara Delevingne.
