Under James Corden’s stewardship, The Late Late Show has come to resemble some of the fun-and-games of Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show, but with a little more midnight surreality. See Corden’s latest game, Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts, which debuted on Monday night with guests Mila Kunis and Christina Applegate.

At its heart, the game was a version of Truth or Dare, but the “Dare” segment was replaced by lots of disgusting food — pickle juice, grasshoppers, calf’s brain — that players had to sample if they didn’t want to answer questions. Kunis was up first, and Corden didn’t make things easy for her with his question: “Ashton Kutcher: Carrot stick or beer can?” She went with “beer can,” rather than drink clam juice.

Next it was Applegate’s turn. Kunis assigned pickle juice to the vegetarian, who had already been doing everything in her power not to gag at the table. Applegate had to say what annoyed her most about Kunis, and answered, “Your gorgeous eyes.” Corden scoffed, but the game continued. Eventually it swung back around to Kunis, whereupon Corden asked her to explain the plot of Jupiter Ascending.

“You know, it’s about the human desire to … okay,” she said, taking a bite of calf’s tongue.

That was nothing compared to Corden’s next challenge, when Applegate asked him who his least favorite Carpool Karaoke guest was. After much deliberation, Corden realized he had no choice but to eat the calf’s brain in front of him.
