The hip-hop drama premieres on Netflix Aug. 12

It’s almost time for The Get Down to get here: The Netflix series, created by Moulin Rouge director Baz Luhrmann, premieres in August, and a new trailer arrived Monday morning.

The New York-set drama focuses on the 1970s music scene and how a group of Bronx-based teens are dealing with it. “The overview of this thing is that New York is in chaos,” supervising producer Nelson George previously told EW. “Symbolically, disco and hip-hop are kind of at war with each other.”

The cast includes Justice Smith, Herizen Guardiola, Shameik Moore, Jimmy Smits, Jaden Smith, and Giancarlo Esposito. Watch the trailer above, and see The Get Down when it debuts on Netflix Aug. 12.
