Amazon and Barnes & Noble can agree on at least one thing: Harry Potter and the Cursed Child could be the biggest book of the year.
Both book distributers have announced the upcoming script of the play, written by Jack Thorne, not J.K. Rowling, has topped their best sellers lists. Barnes & Noble reports that the latest addition to the Wizarding World is the most pre-ordered book since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in 2007.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the script of a play that is currently in previews in London and will open July 30. The story follows Harry Potter, now a Ministry of Magic employee and father of three. The past returns to haunt him and his youngest son Albus. Details on the plot have been scant and Rowling has asked those who have seen the play to remain mum. But for a full recap of everything we already know, see EW’s past coverage and go behind the scenes of the set.
In any case, the wait is almost over the book will officially be available for the masses at midnight on July 31.
