Killing Conrad to save Nick’s (David Giuntoli) life definitely wasn’t enough to absolve Renard (Sasha Roiz) in the eyes of Nick and the rest of the group. When the NBC series returns for its sixth season, Nick and Renard are most definitely on the outs.
“We’ve read the first three scripts [of season 6]. We’re not friends in the first three scripts,” series star David Giuntoli says during an interview in the EW studio at San Diego Comic Con. Bree Turner, who plays Rosalee, adds, “There’s no frenemies. It’s enemies.”
This season, we’ll see Renard turn further away from the light side. “Renard kind of goes to the dark side quite a bit,” teases Sasha Roiz.
Audiences are used to characters on this show going through dark phases, but the cast definitely feels Renard’s turn is different because he’s not in good standing with anyone else on the show. “It does feel like this is, most collectively, the one cast member [who] has been pulled to the opposite side from the rest of the cast,” says Reggie Lee. Roiz quickly adds, “But it wouldn’t take much pulling.”
The fifth season finale of Grimm was titled “The Beginning of the End.” So, the question on everyone’s mind is whether the show is heading into its final season. Unfortunately, the cast didn’t have much of an answer for this. “It’s actually just the end of the beginning and we have like 18 more seasons ahead of us,” jokes Silas Weir Mitchell.
