Saturday’s Marvel Studios panel at Comic-Con took a turn for the strange — Doctor Strange, to be exact — when attendees got a new look at Benedict Cumberbatch as the Sorcerer Supreme.

Cumberbatch stars as the surgeon-turned-sorcerer Stephen Strange, with Tilda Swinton portraying the Ancient One. The film’s cast also includes Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, and Mads Mikkelsen.

“Doctor Strange, you think you know how the world works?” the Ancient One asks. “What if I told you the reality you know is one of many?”

Mikkelsen’s character is also seen, and issues an ominous warning: “I am death, and pain — you’ll die protecting this world.”

“There’s a huge amount of physicality,” Cumberbatch told EW last year of his character. “He’s physically a very strong presence in the world. His hands are no longer capable of the fine skill needed for delicate surgery but physically he’s still strong. There’s a lot of running. There’s a lot of craziness: falling, flying, jumping, fighting, punching, getting punched. It’s really rough and tumble.”

And that’s not the only thing he shared about what to expect from the film: “There’s going to be crazy sh– going on,” he teased.

Doctor Strange opens in theaters on Nov. 4. See the film’s new poster below.
