Rihanna canceled her Anti tour date in Nice, France, after a truck drove into a Bastille Day crowd and killed 84 people on July 14, but at her Tuesday concert in Lyon, she paid tribute to those who died.

“Tonight is the night I wish I could have experienced with my fans in Nice,” she told the crowd at Parc Olympique Lyonnais, before performing “Diamonds,” off 2012’s Unapologetic. “This next song I want to dedicate to the people of Nice who suffered. To the people who’ve suffered, to the people who’ve been traumatized, and their families.” She then asked fans to hold up cellphones and lighters. “I need you to help me light this building up.”

After the show, she posted a photo of the crowd to Instagram and wrote, “I’m so fortunate to have had this experience with you tonight!!! Y’all are incredibly dedicated and I cherish each of you.”
