Tony Hale stopped by EW Radio during San Diego Comic-Con Thursday to talk about his favorite moment playing Buster Bluth, and what he expects from what’s next in the series.
The actor loves his comedy roots, and even losing his hands on Arrested Development made him laugh. When the needy Bluth brother was attacked by a seel, ultimately losing his hands, the actor portraying him had to react. “I remember thinking in my head ‘aw bummer, I like using my hands in comedy’, but then it just got fun and I love that kind of surprise stuff,” stated Hale.
The possible continuation of the cult comedy, which returned to Netflix in 2013 with a new 13-episode season, was also brought into question to gather Hale’s thoughts on what could be next. “I want to see what happened to my sweet girlfriend Liza Minelli,” responded the star. “I want to know what happened to my woman!”
As far as a possible movie or new season on the streaming service, Hale is in the dark as much as fans. “It’s a lot of scheduling. A lot of people are doing different stuff and it’s nine people to get together,” he added, describing why it gets tricky to plan out a new season. “I really want to see where the story continues.”
