Telltale Games’ hotly anticipated Batman series just received its world premiere trailer, which can be viewed below. Episode 1: Realm of Shadows is the first of five episodes in the season, and will be available for download on almost every gaming device on Tuesday, August 2.

The trailer showcases Telltale’s comic book-style approach to Gotham and, in addition to Bruce Wayne/Batman, features mainstay characters such as Harvey Dent, Vicki Vale, Alfred Pennyworth and Selina Kyle/Catwoman.

“I know you’re trying to create a myth,” Alfred says to Bruce in the trailer. “Just remember, there is room for Bruce and Batman inside that suit.” The Telltale Series will notably attempt to spend as much time on Bruce in a suit and tie as it does on Batman in his Batsuit, with branching player choices dictating how he’ll proceed.

Bruce Wayne/Batman is voiced by acclaimed voiceover actor Troy Baker, who in addition to voicing main characters in Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us, memorably portrayed Batman’s nemesis The Joker in 2013’s Batman: Arkham Origins.

Batman – The Telltale Series, which will launch with a special San Diego Comic Con crowd-play event on July 23 hosted by Kinda Funny Games’ Greg Miller, will see a digital release on Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC/Mac, and iOS or Android devices. The game will also be available from retailers on Sept. 13 in North America and Sept. 16 in Europe as a Season Pass Disc.
