Samantha Bee: TBS to air Full Frontal special on Republican National Convention
Samantha Bee’s first special episode of Full Frontal should have some political sting to it: She’s headed to Cleveland for the Republican National Convention.
Airing Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT on TBS, A Very Special Full Frontal Special begins as a road trip to Ohio for the show’s writers, and their adventure ends at the RNC as Donald Trump prepares to accept the presidential nomination. According to Monday’s press release from TBS: “The journey is akin to Sam and Frodo heading toward Mount Doom. In this case, Mount Doom is Cleveland. Along the way, they accidentally discover America and the concerned, excited, and largely baffled people who live in it.”
Added Bee of A Very Special Full Frontal Special: “We went out to listen to the American people and made a short film about the 2016 elections.”
Bee has pulled zero punches in her analyses of the Republican nominee-to-be, referring to him as a “tangerine-tinted trash can” and a “sentient caps lock button.” She also recruited David Tennant to recap some choice Scottish Trump insults on Twitter.
New episodes of Full Frontal with Samantha Bee air on Mondays at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT.
