Hailee Steinfeld released her new single “Starving” on Thursday. The track features production work from Grey and Zedd and is Steinfeld’s first new music since last November’s Haiz EP. She debuted it live Thursday night in Boise, Idaho, at the opening show of Meghan Trainor’s The Untouchable Tour.

“Zedd and I have been friends for a while now, so we’ve been wanting to collaborate,” Steinfeld said in a statement. “He called me up, and said he’d just finished a track he wanted me to hear. I rushed to the studio and immediately fell in love with the song. The next day he introduced me to Grey, and we began recording right then and there. We knew we had something special, because it all happened so fast and with such ease. It was so fun, and pretty amazing, to have this chance to work closely with friends who are so immensely talented.”

Steinfeld has had a busy 24 hours: The red-band trailer for her upcoming dramedy The Edge of Seventeen made waves when it hit the internet Thursday.
