Droned clip: Tyler Perry wowed by machines
Sprinkle a little drone action atop a Pimp My Ride and How It’s Made sandwich, and you’ve got the Science Channel’s new series Droned, which enlists the help of celebrity aircraft enthusiasts like Tyler Perry as it explores the technological revolution happening in the sky.
From wigs to pistols, Perry has accessorized himself with a wide variety of adornments while in character as Madea, but now the filmmaker and actor is setting his sights on jazzing up an epic set of flying machines on the new program, which follows drone customization business Pigeon Vision as it “uses the latest innovative technologies for projects that take them to the world’s most amazing destinations,” according to a press release.
In the exclusive clip above, Perry scopes out a new toy, a GPS-equipped, Osprey-inspired drone that can vertically rise and descend on command.
“What the heck… this is insane,” Perry says as he circles the craft. “I haven’t seen anything like this… you nailed it, man, because I have everything. This is really cool.”
Other famous faces set to appear on Droned are Indy 500-winner Juan Pablo Montoya, magician Criss Angel, Jackass star Jason “Wee Man” Acuna, 98 Degrees band member Jeff Timmons, former NFL wide receiver Ryan Hoag, and social media personality Brock O’Hurn.
Watch Perry gush over his new obsession in the exclusive clip above. Droned premieres July 22 at 6 p.m. ET on the Science Channel.
