Kelly Ripa was the latest victim to sit across from celebrity interviewer Jiminy Glick on Maya & Marty, but her probing discussion ended with a twist: a full-on make-out session.

But before the kiss, which Ripa laughed through, the interview was customarily uncomfortable, with Glick (who is played by Martin Short) asking the Live! With Kelly host about the current political climate and how it might affect her husband, Mark Consuelos.

“If [Donald] Trump’s elected, is he saving to pay for that wall?” Glick asked. Ripa responded by saying that was a very good question, and added how she hoped Conseulos, who is Mexican-American, would be allowed to remain in the United States under President Trump. (Part of Trump’s campaign platform involves building a wall between Mexico and the United States to prevent immigration; he is the presumed Republican nominee for President of the United States.)

Asked by Glick if she would continue Live! With Kelly were Consuelos deported, Ripa said she could do the show from Mexico.

“I think the guest list would be different, my dear,” Glick added.

Ripa is the latest star to sit opposite Short’s Glick and try to keep their composure. Others who were in the hot seat during this season of Maya & Marty include Drake, Ricky Gervais, and Jerry Seinfeld.
