America's Got Talent tween comedian jokes about Caitlyn Jenner
- TV Show
It’s hard out there for a tween, and no one can attest to that better than America’s Got Talent contestant Lori Mae Hernandez.
The 13-year old comedian, whose Donald Trump-slamming audition brought Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel to their feet for a standing ovation last month, took to the stage Tuesday night during the first round of the competition series’ Judge Cuts, venting about the difficulties of growing up before taking a few shots at Caitlyn Jenner.
“I know the day that I crossed over from kid to tween; I’m standing in front of a giant bouncy that made me want to party like I was five,” Hernandez said. “Don’t get me wrong, I still love Disney songs, now I just want ’em sung by hot guys.”
She continued: “My point is, it’s tough being a tween. That’s why I started training. Apparently it’s so difficult to become a woman that you have to train to wear a bra, and if you don’t believe me, ask Caitlyn Jenner.”
Even the notoriously difficult-to-impress Simon Cowell cracked a smile at that one.
“I think it’s great what she’s doing,” Hernandez concluded. “A dad that would go to that length to teach her daughters how to dress right.”
Hernandez’s comedy set worked, apparently, as she advanced to the next round of shows.
