Lin-Manuel Miranda has officially said goodbye to his Hamilcut: The creator and star of Broadway’s Hamilton chopped off the long locks he grew out for the title role following his final performance

“Teach ’em how to say goodbye,” Miranda wrote on Twitter beside a photo of his hair’s remains. Along with fellow castmates Leslie Odom Jr. and Phillipa Soo, the actor performed his final shows on Saturday, July 9.

PEOPLE reporter Dave Quinn also posted photos of Miranda’s post-Hamilton look on Instagram. See them below.

While Miranda told reporters he’d film a performance with the original cast and teased a possible comeback down the line, he’s moving on from Hamilton for now. In addition to composing music for Disney Animation’s Moana, he’ll also star opposite Emily Blunt in Marry Poppins Returns, and his musical In the Heights will be adapted for the big screen.

“It’s been a bit of a day,” Miranda tweeted Saturday. “Wits intact. Love you. Good night.”
